Aha Falls

At the very most tip of Okinawa Island is one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen, Aha Falls. Our trip started off with 2 hours of driving on the Okinawa Expressway & hwy 58 to the northern part of the island, Nago. Nago is more jungle and Naha (southern part of the island) is more rural, city like. There are so many beautiful sights for the eyes in Nago. The jungle here is so thick with trees and plants. When we arrived at Aha Falls we took a little hike to get to it. Now when I say hike I mean more like propelling down with ropes haha. It's a very steep way down and there aren't any steps for you to balance yourself on just roots, clay and ropes that others have put there to help you on your way down. Then through the trees you can here the falls. It's very open and quietly beautiful! I spent 30 minutes just looking up at the trees and exploring around the rocks. Then I jumped into the ice cold water which nearly took the breath right out of me! It was wonderfully refreshing. As Josh and some of his friends swung off the ropes into the icey deep :) I wandered around getting pictures of flowers, plants and animals. Most of the animals I saw were mainly spiders and butterflys. There weren't many flowers but I did get some pics. At the end of the day as we climbed are way back up the steep jungle :) I was pretty pooped out. Now I sit here and think to myself, thats what I will miss about Okinawa.....it's beautiful landscape, the waterfalls, the NATURE! It's breathtaking! Here are some pics I managed to take at the falls.
